Topic posters

Hello.

This week we did poster planning were you collect information about anything you want and then you use that information and put it on a slide. We had two weeks to collect information about the topic you were doing.

My topic is puffer fish because they are funny and they puff up when they are scared.Some of the information I got was that puffer fish have four teeth that are in a big beak shape they use their sharp teeth to crush through shells to get food from inside the shell. Before we do the slide posters we do a fake one to plan what it will look like so we don’t make a mistake on the real one and when we are done we present it in the front of the whole class and we share what we learnt.

On  the posters we do a cool design based on what is about since mine is about puffer fish I make a water themed poster with coral at the bottom and I made the facts in the puffer fish’s belly.

Athletics

This week we did Athletics and all the fun games like long jump and high jump and those sort of things.My favourite was high jump beacause I came first and I went to districts and at districts I came first aswell in high jump.My parents were watching and it was so fun beacause I could jump the highest out of all the year 6’s.The worst part was when I knocked the bar off beacause the mat cause when I jumped the mat sunk down and made me knock the bar off but I got a second try and I didn’t fail I was so lucky and my family was cheering for me.Before high jump started I watched the other kids do their districts and it was so fun when my parents came cause I could give them a big big hug.

Learners map

This week we have been doing our learners map, a learners map is something that you can show people and they can look at it and then they can learn about you cause there is eight sections and a little circle in the middle and in the circle you write your name and you can draw your picture.The eight sections each have different questions in them like what are your intrests/likes? and then you write in what they are and you can draw a pictuer that goes with the writing.My intrests/likes are bugs and fish and crabs because they are so intresting and funny creatures. You can write anything about yourself on a learners map.What did you think about my learners map blog.

Cricket

Cricket

This week on Monday we did cricket and it was really fun because we got into groups of five. First someone went behind the wickets and caught the ball then threw it back to the person in the front of the line then they threw the ball at the wickets and tried to knock them down.Next first team to get all the wickets and get them back up wins and that was just the warm up. The next cricket game was to get your teams and go around the field to try and catch the ball when the bating team hits it unless you were the bating team.If you are the bating team you wait till the bowler throws the ball to you and the hit it as hard as you can and then run to the next area of the field to wait again.When your the bowler you throw the ball to anyone who is on the bating team and wait til the fielders throw the ball back to you.This game was really fun because we did fun sports.

Halloween

Today is Halloween I’m so excited and we’ll go trick or treating but before we go out trick or treating we’ll do the train and other fun activites.We didn’t have any buckets to trick or treat so we got the new world bags and drew ghosts and spooky stuff on them to use for trick or treating, it was fun making them because we could use our imagination and draw our own stuff I put ghosts spiders skeletons and pumpkins and I also writ spooky words like boo,Happy Halloween and pumpkins.I’m also excited to go on the spooky train ride we went on it at Easter and it was bunny themed but this time it will be spooky themed.Do you celebrate Halloween?

Weekend

This weekend I am going to christchurch for my siblings eye test and I am going to get a pet mouse and we will do fun activitys and like the ride there cause I can rest and sleep and when we get there we will get there eye test and go to the pet shop to get a mouse and bunny for my sister and we might go to the mall for lunch I like the butter chicken there cause it is so yummy and we like time zone it is a place were you play fun games and get tickets to buy little toys or candy some of the games are scary and 4dzsome were cool and im excited for cristchurch.Have you ever been to cristchurch?

 

 

 

 

 

Rock Painting

This week we did rock painting to hide around the school and on the bottom we will write the values on it and then when the kids find them they willl follow the values and show respect.My rocks are a orange guy a ladybug a smiley face and a green one with black kiwis on it.It was also fun doing the painting cause you could paint anything you imagine on the rock and little kids will find them around the school looking for all the coulored rocks and what values are on them.We haven’t finished them but we will before morning tea and write the values on the bottom of them.There are a lot of coulors of rocks, people in my class painted cars,water melons,aliens and other cool stuff.Have you ever done rock painting?

Alice in Westland play

Our School Play: Alice in Westland!

Last term, our class started practising a play called ‘Alice in Westland’. It’s a cool story where a girl named Alice finds a hole in a tree, jumps through it, and ends up in a magical world called Westland. In the story, she finds a gumboot throwing contest, and the Tweedles win!

I’m not a character in the play; I’m part of the set and props team. My job is to make all the props and cool stuff for the stage out of cardboard and paint.

On the first day, we didn’t start making anything because our teacher had only just told us about the play. We didn’t have the resources or enough time, so we just sat and watched the actors practise. It was really funny and cool to see them do the first part of the production. I watched the scene with the possums, and it was hilarious!

Camp

Last week we did camp it was really fun and cool because we got to do lots of activitys and cool stuff.The cabins were easy to sleep in and it was really hot in bed.We did spotlight aswell and it was so dark and it was scary when the tagers came I hid under the zipline with my freinds and we were quiet caues the they were coming to look for us.I also did rock climbing but i didn’t do the abseiling cause i was scared when i got to the top so I went back down the rock wall.My favourite i think was when we went on the big flaoty it was cold but i didn’t care cause i had more fun then the cold and the breeze was nice and cool when i bounced on the trampoline.have you ever been on camp?

STEM

this year we did STEM its science art suff and we did paper towers foil boats and this term were makin balloon cars I didn’t because I was away for holiday but everyone else did the cars and I watched and they did testing and it looked fun making them there was lots of cars Finnan’s car was Gary the snail and when you blew through the straw the balloon blew up and looked like Gary’s shell cause it was on th back and cause he drew twirls on it.Bea’s one was a axolotle car and it had a big sail on the top with an axolotle on it and had axolotle’s everywhere.Have you ever done STEM? before do you like STEM?
